5 Skincare habits

#1 Getting 8 hrs of sleep

Getting enough sleep is like a factory reset; it allows your body to rest while your organs restore and repair themselves and each other.

Sleeping for 8 hrs or more each night has tons of benefits, here are a few:

  • Fewer wrinkles

Getting more sleep allows everything to restore and rest; if all your other organs are resting so is the largest organ of your body aka your skin. The lowest level of your skin (dermis) is responsible for storing collagen which keeps your skin firm and elastic. Trust that if your skin is effectively repairing itself your skin will more than likely produce and maintain a healthy amount of collagen.

  • Brighter, healthier under the eyes

  • More radiant complexion

The more we’re up the more fuel our body is burning, if all that fuel is being burned how are the nutrients that give our body fuel bringing us nourishment?? I’m convinced that if we spent more time in bed are bodies wouldn’t have to burn so much fuel and all that nourishment can finally add nourishment to where it needs to be.

  • Less acne

Most acne is caused by inflammation and imbalanced hormones, an increased level of testosterone causes acne. One of the hormones that cause testosterone levels to fluctuate is cortisol, which is the hormone responsible for adrenaline and stress.

#2 Water!!!!

We always hear that water is essential but do you know why?

Some say it removes toxins

Some say it keeps your cells hydrated

Ok, I’ll take that but here’s the main reason why you need to drink half your body weight Of water: it stimulates your lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system is responsible for carrying

nutrients through the body and waste out of the body. Lymph is the fluid that actually carries both nutrients and waste through your system, it's made of mostly water. Can you imagine how being dehydrated can cause issues? Pay attention to the color of your urine, I'm sorry to be so graphic but we have to break the ice somewhere. But anyway, if you pay close attention to your urine on a day where you know you didn't drink much water; it looks very dark, like the color amber. You'll even notice side pain, which could be a result of kidney blockage. Your body will try to find other ways to rid itself of waste if you won't hydrate your body you'll sometimes notice an increase in acne and body odor due to the buildup of waste causing bacteria. So you'll not only feel and smell your body indicate somethings wrong but you'll also see it; in the toilet and on your skin.

#3 Nutrition and Supplements

We know that while our body rests, our organs are repairing and resetting, even soaking up the nutrients put into during the day. Here are some essential nutrients that are a necessity.

  • Vitamin A & C

These two vitamins are responsible for producing collagen and maintaining the production of keratin, the protein that forms the building blocks for hair, skin, and nails. Because Vitamins A & C help the body produce Collagen and keratin which ensures new skin cell production and rejuvenation. This is mandatory for those who are over 25 because after 25 years of age skin cells don’t reproduce as rapidly as they once did, therefore you’ll need a little help from supplements and nutrient-dense foods.

Vitamin E doesn’t help produce new cells but it actually protects the existing cells from pollutants and potential inflammation. It can be applied to the skin and it can be ingested, both ways will have a great effect on the skin.

Just like Vitamin E zinc protects the skin from pollutants and potential inflammation, it also protects the skin from bad bacteria and fuels over 300 enzymes our body needs to function. Zinc not only prevents acne but also helps the wound healing process, which is helpful for acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. When Vitamin A, C, and E are paired with Zinc and

Iron the mineral needed to promote wound healing and hemoglobin (the substance that supplies oxygen throughout the body through red blood cells) you get a complete balance to Maintain healthy skin from the inside out. Of course, some more vitamins and minerals are essential to your skin like vitamin D, Biotin, and Magnesium but these are the necessities.

#4 Create and keep a routine

Your skincare routine is essential to your hygiene; your face is the first thing people see when you greet someone, and your face is the portrait of your personality. Therefore your skincare is something you'd really want to invest in. This investment doesn't even have to be an expensive one but it's definitely time-consuming. Here's a guideline to a weekly routine, if you'd like a more detailed routine specifically for your self click the link below to set up a free consultation with an expert.

Weekly Routine

  1. Cleanse (Am/Pm)

  2. Tone (optional. After each Cleanse

  3. Moisturize (after you cleanse and tone)

  4. Exfoliate (alternate days 2x a week)

  5. Treatment mask (alternate days 2x a week)

#5 Don't overdo it !!!!!

No, you should never put a price limit on yourself... You're priceless!

To add to that, you want to be mindful of your priorities; Is it really necessary to have 3 facial cleansers? Your skin has a mind of its own, it knows what it likes and what it doesn't like. It's cool if you have a daily cleanser and then a cleanser for a deep cleanse to break up some congestion, but that'll do. It's even ok to have two different treatment masks, one to detox your skin and one to soothe or moisturize, but you do not need 4 or 5 different treatments. Please pick your skincare with intention, it will save you money and it will help you manage your skin health.

I guarantee if you follow these basic habits your skin will be healthy, glowing and it will stand the test of time. Thank you lovely people, please reach out I'll be glad to answer any questions
